Morningstar/Event Horizon (MLP OC)

Redrew them in pencil this time because the last pictures of him were a hot mess. Here is Morningstar in his first and second forms. Drawn in pencil, the rest was digital.
I created him because I was interested in the Brony subculture and thought about making my own OC. I wanted to see what would happen if I based a pony on a star or black hole. The result ended up being a metaphor for chronic depression


King Morningstar:
His origins are from a time long before Princess Celestia and he is possibly from a land far away from Equestria. His magic is somehow based on the stars. I made him a bit generic because I didn't want it to distract from his second form.

Event Horizon:
Morningstar suddenly changed after the death of his queen and collapsed into a black hole known as Event Horizon. An alicorn princess gathered together three ponies, a unicorn, a pegasus and an earth pony and together tried to develop a magic that could defeat Event Horizon. Unfortunately the closest they could get would be to imprison Event Horizon for 10,000 years, long enough for future generations to develop the magic they needed. And 10,000 years later just happens to be during the time of Princess Celestia.

After 10,000 years in his prison, he finally escaped, returning with a new shape and more powerful than ever before. The great serpent known as Event Horizon proceeded to consume Equestria. At this point he was no longer sentient. Unfortunately Princess Celestia found she was not powerful enough to defeat him alone, but as it turns out she knows six ponies that can use friendship as a powerful magic. Event Horizon was finally defeated and his last words were something along the lines of how friendship was worth more to him than power or his own throne. After that he disappeared.

I chose the mane six as the heroes for his backstory because using the concept of friendship as a magic was the only thing that I could think of that could defeat a 'villain' that is a metaphor for chronic depression. I use 'villain' in quotes because Event Horizon became a black hole out of sadness, which in itself isn't evil and one could say he didn't know what he was doing. Since Event Horizon is a bit too dark and emo for the context of the show I won't expand much further on his backstory.
